As Book Dash – the brilliant social impact publisher of open, African picture books for very young children – celebrates its biggest print run ever, of over 600,000 books, I revisited the fun of taking part in the Johannesburg Book Dash in 2015.

At Book Dashes, teams of writers, editors, illustrators and designers gather together to become a publishing company for a day, producing quality books to be distributed for free to young children in South Africa and shared openly on the internet. They're fun and invigorating and meaningful events. The next one's coming up in Cape Town in September.

Check out my once-live blog of my Book Dash experience at Book Dash 4 in 2015, where I helped make Rafiki's Style.
